Welcome to our resource hub for travel nurses and allied health professionals. Here, you'll find guides, licensure information, and answers to the most common questions about pay, stipends, insurance, and the travel healthcare lifestyle.
To begin traveling you need at least one full year of experience in your specialty. Be prepared with your resume, certifications, and two supervisor references. These are required by facilities when submitting to jobs.
You can search for jobs on our Travel Nurses, Inc. job board and work directly with your recruiter. Your recruiter will provide a full pay breakdown, including hourly rate, stipends (if applicable), travel reimbursement and other details to ensure the job is a good fit.
Let your recruiter know! We are happy to reach out on your behalf to see if we can connect with the facility and get you considered for that job.
Once you and your recruiter decide on jobs and your profile is complete, you are ready to submit. Submitting means your profile is officially sent to the facility for review. There's no limit to how many jobs you can submit for, but if you're also working with another agency, cross-check jobs with your recruiter to avoid double submissions.
Interview timelines vary by facility. Be sure your voicemail is up to date in case you miss a call. If you're nervous, your recruiter can help with interview tips and preparation.
You are paid weekly via direct deposit.
You may qualify for stipends if your tax home is more than 50 miles from your assignment and you're duplicating expenses. Stipend amounts vary by assignment and facility. Your recruiter will explain eligibility for your contract.
Your tax home is your permanent residence. To qualify for tax-free stipends, you must be duplicating expenses and maintain your permanent home. If you do not claim a tax home, your stipends may be considered taxable income.
Benefits begin on your first day of work. Travel Nurses, Inc. offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance that begins on your first day of work. You can also enroll eligible dependents, including your legally married spouse, biological or adopted children, stepchildren and children under your legal custody. Disabled children age 26 or older may also qualify under certain criteria.
If you begin a new contract within 30 days of your last worked day, your insurance will stay active, and any missed premium payments will be deducted from your next paycheck(s). If more than 30 days pass without a new contract, you'll receive the option to enroll in or decline COBRA coverage. You can sign up for our insurance again when you start another contract.
