Cristina Duncan, BSN, RN climbed through the ranks from being a traveler for the agency to now being our Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer. She was a bedside nurse for 21 years before making the transition to the administrative side. When she was working at the bedside, she worked on a variety of units including adult ICU, PICU, ER and PACU to name a few. She’s been with the agency for 15 years now and has made a lasting impact. Cristina plays a pivotal role in maintaining our accreditation with distinction for the Joint Commission. She is passionate about growing and empowering our healthcare professionals with the ultimate goal of positively impacting patient outcomes. Cristina is an active member of the Government and Regulatory Board with National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations; she is on the Joint Commission task force, and she is on the Lowenburg School of Nursing Dean’s advisory council.
One of Cristina’s proudest personal achievements was beating breast cancer. It was a difficult time for her, and treatment was tough, but she was strong and persevered. Cristina has one son and two bonus sons with her husband, Sean. Cristina loves Friends, and everyone close to her jokingly calls her Monica. She can often be found cleaning and organizing… everything! Rounding out her family, Cristina has two border collies, Stella and Phoebe (like from Friends).
