No matter what agency you are traveling with, recruiters will ask travelers for the same basic documents to build out a submission profile. Recruiters ask for these documents to give the facilities a professional snapshot of you. Positions open and close quickly, so getting your items to your recruiter in a timely manner is important.
It can be a hassle trying to remember where all your documents are located and making sure everything is up to date. Travel Nurses, Inc. is here to help make this process a little easier with a few tips and our Travel Nurses, Inc. app.
The typical documents recruiters will ask for are the following:
Additional information they might ask for would be your shift preference, a preferred start date, requested time off, charting experience and if you have received your Covid or flu shot.
The majority of these items have expiration dates. Keeping track of everything is not always top of mind when you’re moving around from city to city. To start getting things organized, we recommend creating a folder on your phone or laptop to house all these documents. This will help you know where everything is so you can send it all quickly.
Next, we recommend getting in the habit of updating your resume after each assignment. At Travel Nurses, Inc., you can give assignment information to your recruiter so they can update your resume for you. Your recruiter will have most of the information already, but any unit-specific information you want included should be sent to your recruiter.
To keep track of the moving expiration dates, we recommend setting reminders on your phone, email account or laptop for each license and certification you have. You can set reminders years in advance, but this will help you remember about upcoming license expirations without having to think about it. We recommend setting the reminder a month before your certification expires.
At Travel Nurses, Inc, our app that has a built-in credentialing reminder to help you out. Once you upload your documents to your profile, it will ask you for the expiation dates. As you approach the expiration date, you will start getting notifications reminding you it’s time to renew your credentials. You will also receive emails from our credentialing team reminding you to renew your licenses and certifications.
We want you to have fun while traveling and be able to focus on patient care. Hopefully with these tips, you will feel more confident and prepared as you move forward with your traveling career. To get started on your next adventure, contact us at thisisfun@travelnursesinc.com
